Bosch Formally Unveils Single-Door Fridge and Freezer Range

Bosch used its IFA 2026 press conference in Berlin on 2 September to formally unveil a range of single-door fridges and freezers that, by the company’s own account, has been rolling out in German stores since April. The headline number is capacity: a 402-litre fridge and a 334-litre freezer, which Bosch calls “the brand’s biggest capacity to date for single-door appliances.”

The two lines are the KSN36 fridges, built without a freezer compartment in the traditional larder format, and the GSN36 freezers. Both are 60cm wide and 186cm tall, sold as freestanding units, and designed so a fridge and a freezer can be installed standing side by side as a matched pair, though either can also stand alone in a kitchen.

What is actually new in the design?

Two features do the work here. The first is a VitaFresh XXL 0°C compartment: two drawers for fish and meat plus one extra-large, humidity-adjustable drawer for fruit and vegetables, all held just above freezing. Bosch’s own claim is that vegetables stay fresh in it for up to 14 days. The second is Total No Frost, which continuously pulls humidity out of the air to stop condensation forming on the fridge’s back panel and ice building up in the freezer. Bosch says that cuts cleaning and improves energy efficiency, since a frost-free interior does not need periodic defrosting cycles that spike power draw.

A smaller but practical touch is the Flex Door system: door trays lift out and slot into the VitaFresh drawers or the freezer’s Big Box drawers instead, freeing up door space for tall bottles or bulky packaging. Series 6 models also get Easy Opening Handles, which release the vacuum seal’s suction so a tightly sealed, energy-efficient door does not need a hard tug to open.

How efficient and quiet are they?

Bosch rates the range at energy class C on the current EU A-G scale and noise class B, with individual models measuring between 30 and 35 dB depending on configuration. The GSN36AICM freezer specifically is rated at 35 dB. Independent trade press backed up part of the story: ChannelNews, an Australian appliance industry outlet, separately confirmed the GSN36 freezer’s 334-litre capacity and its Flex Door feature in its own IFA 2026 coverage, reporting the same core specs Bosch gave in its press materials.

What do the finish and price options look like?

Buyers choose between two interior finish tiers, Series 6 with a metal-look back panel and Series 4 with a glossy white back panel that Bosch says wipes clean more easily, and four exterior finishes: brushed steel with an anti-fingerprint coating, metal-look, white, and anthracite steel.

On pricing, Bosch’s own German site lists the KSN36VLCG, a metal-look 402-litre fridge, at EUR 1,129 and currently in stock. The GSN36AICM, a 334-litre freezer, is listed at EUR 1,379 with limited availability. Both figures come from bosch-home.com’s German storefront; Bosch has not published UK pricing or confirmed UK availability for this specific range.
